Measuring the Impact of Instant MPG Info

More and more auto makers are putting in eco-gauges in their vehicles that provide feedback on how efficiently you are driving. Their goal is to change driver behaviour to more responsible driving. Toyota, Ford, and Lincoln are currently using this in their new vehicles. These gauges are called SmartGauge. They are trying to get people to use every last mile from a gallon of gas. Studies in Europe and Japan show that eco-driving could reduce fuel consumption from 5%-25%.
